Candace the Doula

This month we are so excited to switch things up and offer a service to our local moms.

Let me introduce you to the sweet and lovely Candace. Candace the Doula is a DONA certified Doula in Meridian, Idaho. She has been helping moms through pregnancies since 2014.

For the month of September, You can take advantage of $50 off the package deal that is offered when you book Candace as your Doula for your pregnancy.

First off, you may be asking, what is a Doula?

The word “doula” comes from the ancient Greek meaning “a woman who serves” and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.

When we asked Candace why she became a Doula she had this to say:

I am passionate about giving non-judgemental support to any mom that wants help with her pregnancy and birth. Giving birth can be extremely emotionally and physically difficult for a mom and her partner. They are more likely to have better outcomes when they have the support of a trained Doula. I truly love being that person for them."

When it comes to having a baby we know how difficult it can be to trust somebody to guide you and your family through the magical roller coaster experience that pregnancy and child birth bring.

Candace was raised in a home with her mother as a Doula. She says that she was raised to " believe that our bodies are strong and that we should be confident in our ability to give birth."

Candace is a mom of 2 and she knew she wanted to become a Doula after she had "two difficult births of my own and seeing how much my husband and I could have both benefited from having a doula, I decided that I needed to be that person for others. I want help other families have a positive and safe experience, not just physically but emotionally as well. It is so important that mothers and babies to have a peaceful and gentle birth experience because it affects all aspects of family life."

Do you have questions about what to expect? Are you curious if a Doula could help you? Do you want to know more about the type of help Candace can offer you?
